A vintage home with great bones perfectly updated for today’s lifestyle.
After finding a perfect home with great bones in one of Chicago’s historical districts, this family turned to us to give it a fresh new look, and they wanted it done quickly so they could move in by Thanksgiving. We transformed it from a traditional aesthetic to a polished transitional design that includes multiple areas where the family can entertain.
In the kitchen, we optimized the space for efficiency and to promote conversation. With multiple seating options on different levels, the space works for day-to-day meals and parties. The combination living room and dining room provides maximum seating while allowing for intimate discussions. When our clients invite a few select guests over, they can enjoy the surround sound lounge equipped with a full bar on the upper level of the home.
Within a few short months, we were able to complete the entire project. This turnkey process required the collaboration of our vendors and contractors as well as the full devotion of the team. With rush deliveries coming in and work underway in the home, no detail was overlooked. From accessorizing to fully stocking the kitchen and bathrooms, the home was ready for the family to arrive.
When my clients learned that they would be hosting a private dinner party for former President Barack Obama, they requested our help in transforming their home to accommodate the event. Michelle’s Interiors reconfigured the space, coordinating backdrops, table linens, floral arrangements, and even the daughters’ outfits. What a special evening!
She’s very warm and personable, but more than anything, Michelle really listened to what we wanted. I felt that this was the first time that our dreams were actually translated into something greater than what we could have done on our own. We could not have been happier with the results. When we walked in, it was everything we were looking for, and more.
